A BRIEF SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS :
1) Your pet must be microchipped
2) Rabies vaccination given (this can be done on the same visit as microchipping)
3) After a minimum 30 days after 2), blood test to check effectiveness of the vaccination.
4) If the blood test produces acceptable result, an examination is needed including a check of the microchip and issue of a PET PASSPORT
5) YOUR PET CANNOT RETURN INTO THE UK FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF THE SUCCESSFUL BLOOD TEST RESULT. ie.starting from scratch you need to allow a minimum of about seven & a half months from vaccination to the time you wish your pet to return to the UK.
6) If you are taking your pet to or through any country other than EC countries or other countries which are approved under the Pet Passport scheme, you will need to apply to DEFRA (MAFF) for an EXPORT HEALTH CERTIFICATE (phone us for details).
